Dhaka Credit celebrates 62 Years anniversary

 
 
 
 
 
 

The Christian Co-operative Credit Union Limited, Dhaka (Dhaka Credit) celebrated 62nd anniversary in a befitting manner gathering some 1500 board members, advisors, ordinary members, different sub-committee members, well-wishers and dignitaries.

 Bangladesh’s legendary actress as well as former MP Kabori Sarwar attended the ceremony as the chief guest while Dhaka Credit president Babu Markus Gomes presided over the celebration program.

 Special guests were Nirmal Rozario, Chairman of the Central Association of Christian Co-operatives (CACCO) Limited; Hubert Gomes, distinctive president of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council;  Augustine Purification, chairman of the Metropolitan Christian Co-Operative Housing Society Limited; and Rev. David Anil Halder, founder executive director of Help Bangladesh. 

 The July 15 (2017) glorious event in Tejgaon Church Community Center awarded 15 Christian women for their special contributions in the Christian society and country.

 Honored women were Momota Areng (education & social service), Helen Rozario (social service, co-operatives & writing), Dipti D' Costa (education & social service), Basonti Tereza Rebeiro (society & health service), Palin Gomes (the best credit unionist), Maria Gomes (spiritual organizer), Manju Maria Palma (development worker & organizer), Kalpana Mariya Faliya (politics & social service), Cicilia Gomes (social service), Cecilia Rozario (social service & development worker), Momota Adhikari (health care), Philomina Aruna Gomes (Journalism), Shanti Corraya (social service), Lima Chisim (Police Officer) and Magdalene Dessai (banker).

 Dhaka Credit’s president Babu Markus Gomes in his speech said, “We need cooperation of all concerned for more advancement of our credit union.”  Referring to the topic of the video documentary (showed there), he said, "This documentary manifests our realities in ground. Our organization's three-year strategic plan was successfully implemented meeting the targets.” He expressed gratitude to all the board members and at the same time he recalled and paid respect to the departed leaders who are in eternal rest.

 He especially recalled with gratitude the past leaders who transformed the 25-taka organization (Dhaka Credit) into a 538 crore taka. He thanked the board of directors (of 2014-2017), the officials and staff members for their contribution in making Dhaka Credit an enormous organization. He also emphasized on the empowerment of the women.

 In her speech, the chief guest Kabori Sarwar said that women contributed in all sectors in Bangladesh. “A good mother can build a good nation,” said she and thanked Dhaka Credit for honoring women for their contributions in different service areas. She also appreciated the outstanding activities done by of Dhaka Credit.

 Dhaka Credit’s Secretary Pankaj Gilbert Costa facilitated the program that revealed Dhaka Credit’s distinctive target achievements and growth in different areas including future dreams. The program reflected a better image of Dhaka Credit among the people were present in the event.
